Hey there!

It's been two weeks since I last updated? God that's a while! Still, I suppose I had just gone back to college and stuff, and started work experience. Anyway, unimportant. I'm gonna be posting more regularly again!

So, recently all I've been playing is Call of Duty 4 (and the Sims 3, but I'll cover that in a separate post). I'd never finished the single player before, so I decided I may as well. To be honest, I'm glad I did. COD4 is, as I've probably mentioned before, one of the most incredible experiences you could ever have with a videogame and the single player just proves this point. You don't play this game, you experience it. Some of the levels like "Charlie Don't Surf" are just so amazingly detailed, you find yourself getting right into it.

So yea. I know I'm like a few years late, and everyone and their mothers have already finished this game, but I'm still gonna say, buy this game!

Two Things

Two things have been keeping occupied over the last few days. The first is Super Stardust HD (which is one of the best games to download from your shiny PS3!) and the Mighty Boosh.

I'm a HUGE Boosh fan, but one scene that always gets me is this one from season 3 when Howard meets the Hitcher for the third time. (Four, if you count the coconut hitcher =D)

Enjoy!

Dead Space

The survival horror genre is a dangerous territory for inexperienced developers. With so many classics embedded within it's mighty past, audience expectations are high. VERY high. In fact, they've became so high that even the two daddies of the genre have failed with their latest installments (Resident Evil 5 and Silent Hill: Homecoming).

With that in mind, Dead Space was destined to be a total flop. EA had never made a survival horror, how could they ever match the likes of Resident Evil 4 or Silent Hill 2? Well I'll tell you how. Because they're damn talented.

Dead Space is like Resident Evil 4 and Bioshock's love child... in space. From the moment you start playing it grabs you by the short ones and drags you deep into it's world, kicking and screaming. I'm not afraid to say, this game freaked me the fuck out on many, MANY occasions. It's not the whole jumping out behind you shit that gets me. It's the whole, woman standing in a blood stained corridor laughing... then shooting herself that does. The gameplay is incredible, with dismemberment being the only way to stop the deadly necromorphs from noming on your face , meaning that slicing off limbs is the primary way of killing.

In short, this is by far one of the best games I've ever played. I won't talk too much about the story, but trust me, if you're a fan of Resident Evil 4 then you'll absolutely adore this.

Dino Crisis 2

Now Dead Space is a great game. Truly one of the best games I've ever played, but it's going to have a take a back seat for just one more day because today I found the greatest game ever made.

Oh yes, I got my grubby mitts on a copy of Dino Crisis 2, and it works on my PS3. Fuck, yea.

This game is one of the best things Capcom have ever made, and even after a whopping nine years since it's release (which makes me feel old) it still looks and plays great. As I will keep insisting throughout this post, this game is GOD.

For those who haven't played it then imagine this. The Resident Evil 2 engine meets Jurassic Park in a futuristic world which is actually now in the past, topped with the combo system from... well pretty much every arcade game out there. Come on, try and imagine that. Got a pretty picture in your head? Times that by a million. Now you have Dino Crisis.

The game follows Dylan, who is effectively Chris Redfield with blonde, rather floppy hair and Regina, who is Jill Valentine with red hair. God bless Capcom. So anyway, these two crazy guys get thrown back in time from THE DISTANT YEAR OF 2010 (no joke) to go save some shit from Dinosaurs... Ah hell do I have to explain the story? You shoot dinosaurs. DINOSAURS. Honest, why aren't you playing this game right now?

I used to play this all the time as a kid, and I actually regard this game higher than the likes of Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear Solid (which is a bold statement from me). Hours I wasted shooting dinosaurs, exploring futuristic yet in the past worlds and shooting more dinosaurs. It was like heaven to my young eyes. And you know what? It's just as good now.

Let's pray that it comes on the PSN, because everyone needs to play this game.

The Sims 3

So the Sims 3 came out on Friday, and to put it simply it looks damn good. If there's one thing for certain about a game that carries "The Sims" in it's title, it's that it's gonna be damn good. Apart from Sim City Societies. And Sim Animals. Ok scrap that part.

It's pretty certain that I'll end up getting this one way or another. My sisters a pretty big fan of the previous games and Spore so it's more than likely we'll both end up paying for it together or weening the cash out of parents. Either way, I feel as though I have to buy this more out of dedication that for enjoyments sake. I mean, I've bought the Sims since the beginning! It's like going to see the next Star Wars installment, or watching the new series of Big Brother.

In other news, I finally found my charging wire for my PS3 controller meaning I can can actually play it again!

A LIttle Bit Of Meevil

So it seems that a transition from "100% Gaming" to "100%...a bit of everything" isn't going to be as easy as I thought, so here's a random post that's just going to go balls to the wall and hope for the best.

See that guy? Yea that's me, your glorious host who's been rambling like an idiot for almost seven months now (or maybe longer... I'll have to check). You've laughed with him... maybe. You've shared experiences... probably. You've cried... actually this is getting ridiculous. That's me ok? Liam Richardson. How you doing. Make yourself at home. I'll get some biscuits.

So this whole "Going Personal" thing... I'm not really too sure how to do it. Maybe I'll just tell you how my Day was?

So today I... played Dead space. This isn't going to work. Actually it could! Actually.... no. I'm just going to end up talking about games again.

I know, here's a video I found earlier today that I found incredible. It may look like a model shot, but actually it's real life video filmed in like this weird way. Watch in HD!

Dead Space

I've been meaning to play this for ages and have just never got round to it... so I'm off to play it now.

Oh, and if you exected a personal post today then well... well this is a personal post!

I'm game obsessed, didn'tcha knoo?

What To Play

So I recently finished Half Life 2: Episode 2 on the Xbox and now only have one boss left on Crackdown before I've finished that. Thing is after this, I still have a ton of stuff to play. I need to to finish Fable 2, Halo 3, Dead Space, I have Warhawk to play, I also haven't got round to finishing Penny Arcade 2 and on top of all this I just got my LIVE back which means now I'm pressured into playing games with other people!

*sighs* Hard life, eh? ;)

Gears of War 2 Matchmaking

In the time it takes me to find a playable game on Gears of War 2 I could go out, earn enough money to pay a small company to make a game equally as good, come home, load it up, finish the single player and then start playing online in the time it takes for me to find a playable gamemode ON THE MOST POPULAR MODE.

I mean... Honestly!

Little Big Planet PSP

Oh yes guys, I would go as far as to buying a PSP just for this game. For that is how much I love LittleBigPlanet. Also, it would be great fun to share levels with my girlfreind!

Look At The Pretty Picture

I'm not really sure what to blog about today, so you can just look at this picture of Bioshock 2's multiplayer mode. I'm indifferent about the whole concept of multiplayer Bioshock, but it looks pretty so I decided to post a picture.

Now you have to look at it.

Forever.

E3 Day 2

So firstly, I've just started playing Animal Crossing on the Wii, but that's not important.

Another day, another E3. The Nintendo conference.... well did bugger all really but I'll cover it in a sentence.

More casual, more shiny old stuff.

Ok so further opinion? The new Metroid looks sweet as (It looks to be a lot like the originals and the damn near perfect Metroid Fusion), I can't wait for the new Mario RPG (LOVED Partners in Time) and I did get a laugh out of the DS port for the Wii (New Super Mario Bros on a Wii!)

I would like to say a lot about Sony's conference as well but... well there's nothing really new. Ok so the new Rockstar exclusive makes me drool but everything else was just... already known. While the Microsoft conference made everyone wee in excitement and surprise, the Sony conference was like greeting and old friend who then gave you a birthday present and a lovely big hug. Great things but, expected!

Although THAT Drakes Fortune trailer......

E3 Day One: All Your Base Are Belong To Xbox

I have no idea what to say. If you didn't watch the Xbox conference than... well shame on you. Yesterday I said that Nintendo's conference a few years back was the best keynote conference ever. I lied, because today Xbox just waltzed right over it.

Ok read it all? Good man. I have a feeling that even if you're the most hardcore Playstation fanboy something there got you excited.

So lets get all the motion stuff out the way first. Yes, I did sex wee a little when I saw it. Only problem is I'm slightly skeptical about it at the present moment, but I have a feeling that it's going to come through and be incredible. Still, puts the Wii in perspective a bit huh?

But now lets get the chunky stuff. Left 4 Dead 2 (Where did that come from?), Crackdown 2 (Yes please), Twitter, Facebook, and Last FM on the dashboard and of course.... *sighs* Metal...... Metal Gear Solid....

God Sony have a lot to live up to tomorrow.
