Windows 7: First Impressions

So I finally got my copy of Windows 7 today and there's only one way I can explain what it's like to you guys.

It's like... It's like coming home to find a walrus making you dinner. The walrus was never there before, and it's helpful it being there and hey let's face it it's a walrus and it's pretty damn cool but at the end of the day your house is exactly the same as it was before the walrus came. But then you ask yourself, "Hey, do I really need this Walrus then? If everythings just the same as before?" and then the walrus comes and makes you marshmallow cookies and you don't know how you ever lived without him.

Windows 7 is like that. It's Vista, but with so many decent new features that it feels like something new. This should have been what Vista was in the first place but I'm not going to complain. Windows 7 is like a breath of fresh air, and I love it already.

Three Thoughts: New PC

Few thoughts for toady's blog.

Firstly, I'm loving evil characters on the Sims 3. It's almost like a completely different experience. I must admit, this game does live up to a certain degree of the unlimited creativity promised in the press release. The only thing that still bothers me is the lack of decent hairstyles and there only being one neighbourhood.

Secondly, what's happened to Tf2? Everyone wearing halos and all sort of other hats. It's great! Thing is, I can't help but feel a little sympathetic towards those who believe that Valve have ruined the original charm. It does seem a bit busy, if that makes sense. Still, great game, but very different to the instant classic I fell in love with almost two years ago now.

Finally, I love Vista, to the point where I wonder why I've never had it until now. It's probably because I'm using pretty much the final build, what with Windows 7 just around the corner, but I don't have any problems with it whatsoever! Games run just fine, I love the interface and it's much faster than XP. Saying that though, could just be my PC.

Three Things

ONE I really, really want Windows 7. There's an offer with the computer I want where I can get it for a tenner with Vista (and the PC comes with Vista as standard). I don't know what it is about Windows 7, but it makes the power nerd within me scream with pleasure every time I see it.

TWO Left 4 Dead on co-op at four in the morning is a lot harder than you'd think it is.

THREE I finally beat my girlfriend in gamerscore, although I had to resort to playing Kameo in order to do it D:

Peace out.
